Sports Day 2018 was well worth the wait!! A fabulous day was had by all- the children, the teachers, and the parents :) A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day run so smoothly and efficiently, especially to Mr. Hayes who made the planning look so easy!!!! The day ended on a high with the Parents Association on hand to help out with some very needed refreshments. Thanks as always :)
5th and 6th class went on a cycle on Wednesday with Garda Séamus Moriarty and Garda Mary Gardiner as part of the Community Garda Scheme. Everyone had a great day. A big thank you to everyone involved

Friday was a fun filled day whereby the children got to experience Taekwondo with Jonathan and Hayley Dowling. Jonathan trains children in Taekwondo in Fenit and Ballyheigue; is a world champion and also has three Black Belts to his name. Hayley isn’t far behind him with two black belts!! They ensured every child was challenged and learned some of the techniques and skills of this tough martial art. The children enjoyed themselves immensely, impressing us all with their determination and focus!! Junior Infants had a fantastic time being active during Active School Week. Some of the activities that they took part in included hurling, active stations with 5th and 6th class, dancing and taekwondo. Well done to all the boys and girls for getting involved and having fun.
Junior Infants went on a nature walk on Thursday the 24th of May. We saw lots of signs of summer and wrote about these when we returned to the classroom.
Junior Infants were very busy in May as they observed the arrival of baby chicks in the classroom. This allowed for great learning for all the children, as they discovered what chickens need to survive and grow, as well as learning all about the life cycle of a chicken. It also provided a great opportunity for the children to learn how to handle and care for animals in a very fun way.
